About Clifford Davies
Clifford Davies is one of the most highly respected figures in the field of Specialized Business Recovery and Development Assistance (SBRDA). He has worked in the SBRDA space for over twenty-five years, gaining expertise in a variety of areas such as business planning, organizational development, financial analysis, and project management.
He began his career as an assistant professor at Georgetown University, where he taught courses on entrepreneurship and small business management. From there he went on to become Director of Programs for the Small Business Association’s Regional Office in Washington D.C. After that he moved on to become Program Manager at SBA’s Center for Private Capital Access. In this role, he was responsible for developing initiatives for improving access to capital and financing opportunities for small businesses.
In 2002 Clifford joined SBRDA as a program consultant and eventually became their Senior Vice President. He has been at the forefront of many important initiatives that have helped countless small businesses thrive in challenging economic times while also providing invaluable assistance to low-income families and communities across the United States. One of his most notable achievements was leading a team that successfully secured $100 million from Congress to help fund SBRDA’s programs which created jobs throughout America during the Great Recession.
Clifford has also been active outside of work by serving on numerous boards and committees such as The Small Business Council of America (SBCA) Board of Directors and The US Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Advisory Council among others. He is not only passionate about helping small businesses succeed but is also dedicated to making sure people are empowered with knowledge so they can make informed decisions when it comes to their finances.
