Economic Development Agency Advances with Enterpreneurial Model to assist Businesses

San Bernardino Valley Enterprise Zone Highlighted

In a bold effort to reverse an environment where businesses are closing and few new businesses are opening, the Economic Development Agency (EDA) of the City of San Bernardino is reorganizing and consolidating its business assistance programs and staff in a one-stop business center which it is naming the Office of Business Development.  Executive Director Emil Marzullo culled the idea of assigning specialized staff to coordinate services and programs and work one-on-one with businesses from his long-time experience in organizational management coupled with expertise in all aspects of economic development, redevelopment, financing and running an independent business himself.   In addition,  many discussions with Mayor Pat Morris on setting new goals and objectives for the EDA, confirmed the timing was right, especially now that EDA already has a unique and great asset and business tool with its San Bernardino Valley Enterprise Zone (SBVEZ) designation confirmed, and already highly performing in this tight economic market.
